Betty Meier

Services for Betty Meier, 96, who died Jan. 4 at Asbury Park in Newton, were Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Durham.

Interment was in Haven of Rest Cemetery, rural Hillsboro.  

Born March 22, 1922, in McPherson to Ed and Leah (Geis) Geis, she married Bill Meier March 25, 1944. He preceded her in death along with brother Quentin Geis and sisters Eunice Klein and Lois Whitney.

Survivors include daughters Julianne Arguello of Costa Rica and Willabeth Gonzalez of Newton, five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorials have been established to King Daughters of the church or Gideon’s International.
