Delivery driver collapses, dies

A 45-year-old delivery driver collapsed on a lawn Friday at 515 Locust St., in Marion and later died at St. Luke hospital.

He was taken by ambulance to St. Luke, where he later died.

Interim ambulance director Mickey Price said ambulance workers examined the man and saw that he was in life-threatening condition.

“The patient was found in the yard in pretty rough shape, and they took him to St. Luke,” Price said. “He wasn’t in cardiac arrest but he was deteriorating. He was in and out of consciousness.”

At St. Luke, his condition deteriorated further. He went into cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead.
