Herzet named principal

Jared Herzet, a 1995 Marion High School graduate, has been named principal of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic School in Shawnee.

He currently serves as director of athletics and activities at St. James Academy in Lenexa but has been a member of Sacred Heart parish for 14 years.

He and his wife, Sara, have two children in the parish school — seventh grader Matthew and fourth grader Ivy.

He has a bachelor’s degrees in biology and education and a master’s in educational administration.

He will transition into the role during the spring semester.
