Marion places fifth in golf

Marion placed fifth out of eight teams Monday at Hesston. Jayden Stiver was 14th individually. Ryan Tharp was 21st, and Jacob Tharp was 22nd.
Marion will be host for 11 schools, including Hillsboro, at regionals Monday at the Marion Country Club.
Goessel will compete in a Class 1A regional tournament Monday at the Stafford Country Club. Centre’s lone golfer will compete at the Cedar Hills Golf Course in Washington on Monday for regional competition.
The Trojans placed second as a team Friday in Marion and fourth as a team in Hillsboro for the Marion County 36-hole challenge. Marion did not have enough competitors to have a team ranking.
For the entire tournament, Hillsboro’s Braxton Hiebert placed seventh, Nathan Hill placed ninth, and Jake Sibayan placed 11th.
