Marla Emig
Graveside services for Marla Dee Emig, 68, who died May 19, will be 10 a.m. June 24 at Greenlawn Cemetery at Mt. Pleasant Church, rural Abilene.
Born Nov. 16, 1956, in Abilene, Kansas, to David and Rolla Mae (Blades) Emig, she grew up in Abilene and Solomon, graduating from Solomon High School in 1974.
She married Rodney Smith in 1975 and Mick Meyer in March 1989. They lived in Salina before relocating to a farm near Lincolnville. After divorce in 2005, she lived several places before returning to Salina.
She was an office assistant for John Deere in Marion and eventually became customer service representative for the Emporia, Marion, and McPherson areas.
She is survived by children William Smith of Solomon and Erin Beavers of Hillsboro; siblings Ray Emig of North Carolina, Melissa Sellers of Solomon, and Mark Webb of Texas; stepmother Donna Emig; and six grandchildren.
Her parents and brother Jeff Emig preceded her in death.
A memorial has been established with Main Street Ministries, Hillsboro.
