Memorial services planned
Memorial Day services are planned for Monday at several cemeteries in the area.
- Cedar Point Cemetery — 10 a.m. Honors presented by John McKay American Legion Post of Florence.
- Hillcrest Cemetery, Florence — 11 a.m. Honors presented by John McKay American Legion Post of Florence.
- Lewis Cemetery, Ramona —10:30 a.m. Taps will be played at the end of the service. Lunch following at the parish hall in Ramona. People are asked to bring a salad or desert.
- Lincolnville Cemetery — 10:30 a.m. Honors presented by Lincolnville American Legion.
- Marion Cemetery — 2 p.m. Honors presented by John McKay American Legion of Florence. Volunteers are sought to put flags on graves at 9 a.m. Saturday.
- Memorial Park, Hillsboro — 10 a.m. Honors presented by Hillsboro American Legion. A reservation-only steak dinner will follow at noon. Cost is $20. Tickets are available in advance at the Legion and Hillsboro Hardware.
- Mount Calvary Cemetery, Florence — 9:30 a.m. Honors presented by John McKay American Legion of Florence.
- Pilsen Cemetery — 9:30 a.m. Honors presented by Lincolnville American Legion Post.
- Prairie Lawn Cemetery, Peabody — 10 a.m. Honors presented by Peabody American Legion.
Cleanup set
Temporary decorations left on gravesites at Prairie Lawn Cemetery, Peabody, will be discarded June 3.
Decorations other than flowers in permanent vases that anyone would like to keep must be removed by June 2.
