A celebration of life for Michael R. Rogers, 65, of Salina, who passed away Feb. 20, 2026, will be scheduled later.

Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, 500 S. Ohio St., Salina, is assisting the family.

Born Feb. 17, 1961, in Marion, Michael was a beloved figure in his community and a pillar of strength to his family.

He began his career working on oil rigs for his father, Don Rogers, who preceded him in death.

Michael also served as a part-time sheriff’s deputy in Marion County before dedicating himself to police work in 1985.

Throughout his distinguished career, he served as a patrolman, detective, and investigator for the State of Kansas, retiring from the Saline County attorney’s office as an Investigator.

His commitment to law enforcement and safety of his community was unwavering.

Michael graduated from Kansas Wesleyan University with a double major in biology and chemistry, reflecting his lifelong love for learning and the natural world.

This passion also manifested in his personal hobbies, which included hunting, camping, reading, and cooking.

He cherished the outdoors, often spending free time in nature’s embrace, whether it was a quiet moment with a book or an adventurous camping trip with loved ones.

Michael was a loving husband to his wife, Janelle, and a devoted father to his children, Kendra Steinkirchner (and husband T.J.) and Erik Rogers (and wife Anh-Minh).

His joy was magnified by his 10 grandchildren, who will miss their grandfather’s warmth and guidance.

He also leaves behind his mother, Cora Rogers, and siblings, Bill Rogers (and wife Susan), Dawn Luna (and husband George), and Corey Rogers (and wife Shelia), along with many nieces and nephews.

Michael’s legacy is marked by his dedication to his family, his career, and his love for the great outdoors. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him and the community he served so faithfully.
