TO THE EDITOR

Muzzle thyself

To the editor:

Jim Hackman’s letter, “Go easy on Trump” (May 20), urges the editor not to express opinions that criticize the Insurrectionist-in-Chief.

Mr. Hackman claims the latter has “accomplished a large part of his campaign promises,” citing the “stopping of thousands of emigrants crossing the border” as an example.

Was Tempe, Mr. Hackman’s city, flooded by them? If so, are he or other non-emigrants not doing their old jobs?

I’d give Trump more credit: He’s also accomplished many goals he never told us he intended to:

  • Starting an illegal war with Iran that shows no sign of ending, thus jacking up the price of gas and other goods.
  • Blocking release of the Epstein files.
  • Sending masked and armed goons into American cities to attack, kidnap, and kill civilians.
  • Looting billions from the public treasury, to name just a few.

Yes, let’s hear no harsh words about such things.

Jeff Cohen’s “Forty Years of FAIR” in the June/July issue of Extra! reminds us why supposedly “contrary” editorial opinion is crucial:

“FAIR documented the TV networks’ near-total exclusion of antiwar voices in the run-up to the Iraqi invasion (3 out of 393 on-camera sources).”

Sorry, Mr. Hackman: Your rally-’round-the-flag grouper rhetoric is anti-American.
