Rural neighbors’ feud leads to weapons arrest
A rural Peabody man who apparently was in a long-running feud with neighbors was arrested Saturday after going to their house, firing a gun into the air, and making threats.
Curtin L. Findley, 33, Peabody, was arrested on suspicion of making a criminal threat, aggravated assault, and criminal discharge of a firearm.
The two houses were close to one another, but not as close as houses would be in town, Undersheriff Larry Starkey said.
Findley has a long list of court cases previously filed against him, mostly for debt collection cases.
He has been sued 10 times for bad debts in Marion, Harvey, Butler, and Saline counties; charged with criminal damage to property in Marion County; and with driving with no registration, driving without a license, driving with defective wipers, failure to wear a seat belt, and underage possession of alcohol in Butler and Harvey counties.
