Weather shines on Centre graduation

Staff writer

Weather was picture-perfect Saturday as 12 Centre seniors received their high school diplomas at Bud Peterson Field.

Signs of the influence of COVID-19 were evident as families and friends, some wearing masks, were spread out in lawn chairs on the field.

School officials wore face masks, and the seniors used hand sanitizer before crossing the stage to receive their diplomas.

When senior Jensen Riffel addressed the crowd and named Principal Donald Raymer as his most influential high school teacher, the two looked at each other for a second and then hugged and shook hands.

Raymer led the ceremony, and counselor Max Venable gave the main address. Braxton Smith gave the student address, saying he was excited about the future and changes happening in American society.
