The attractive and useful community announcement board being built at the corner of Main and Elm will announce community events and add to the attractive surroundings of the area. The kiosk is being paid for by the Aid Association for Lutherans of Our Savior Lutheran Church.
Fifteen Cub Scouts participated in the annual Pinewood Derby Monday night. First place winner was Shad Winter. Matt Holub took the second place trophy and Todd Winter was third. Jason May won the trophy for best design.
JoAnn Knak told Marion Kiwanis Club members Monday that Marion County Emergency Medical Service may be considered for a pilot study of cardiac defibrillation training. A.J. Coe of Marion was present at the meeting and was presented with a 10-year pin recognizing his volunteer service as an EMT.
Herb Hiebert, former Marion County commissioner, died Jan. 17 at Hillsboro. He served as commissioner from the first district for 14 years.
