Write-ups for celebrations of wedding anniversaries include the 58th anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. James Conyers and the 67th anniversaries of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Meier Sr. of Marion and Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Newcomer of Peabody.

The “Look Who’s Here” column, announcing new arrivals, includes Janice Ann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wiens, born Feb. 8; Rebecca Ann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Vinduska, born Feb. 10; and Beth Elaine, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Regier, born Feb. 12. All three girls were delivered at St. Luke Hospital.

At least three Marion County high school students will represent their schools in the 1962 Betty Crocker search for the American Homemaker of Tomorrow award. Norma Nice is the winner from Marion High School. Sharon Kay Klein is winner from Durham Rural High school. In addition, Verna Mae Koehn is the winner from Goessel Rural High School.

Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Gerstenkorn were in Wichita from Thursday afternoon until Sunday. They went especially to be present at the Boy Scout Court of Honor ceremony. Their grandson, 14-year-old John Robert Summerville, received the Eagle Scout award.

Marion’s Cub Scout Pack 102, the younger boys’ division of the Boy Scouts, has been reorganized and an initial five dens established.
