Donald A. Klassen, 84, of Hillsboro died Tuesday at Schowalter Villa in Hesston.

He was born Oct. 30, 1927, in Mountain Lake, Minn., to Abram and Elizabeth (Janzen) Klassen. He was a hospital administrator and farmer.

He married Lenora Friesen on June 24, 1948, in Mountain Lake.

He is survived by his wife, Lenora of Hillsboro; three sons, Marlo Klassen of Oakley, Myron Klassen of Hesston, and Sheldon Klassen of Moundridge; three daughters, Marlene McKitrick of Albuquerque, N.M., Sharon Boese of Lehigh, and Sandra Esch of Los Lunas, N.M.; two brothers, Harold and Loyal Klassen both of Mountain Lake; 18 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.

Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at First Mennonite Church, Hillsboro, with Pastor Susan Jantzen officiating. Burial is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Alexanderwohl Cemetery, rural Goessel. The family will receive guests from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Jost Funeral Home, Hillsboro.

A memorial fund has been established for Mennonite Central Committee.
