Retired teacher and pastor Herb L. Jackson, 81, of Marion died Friday at Peabody Care Center.

An Air Force veteran, he married Joyce Tucker on Dec. 22, 1978, in Liberty, Mo., and the couple moved to Marion in the early 1990s.

She survived along with two stepsons, Ralph Tucker of Lee’s Summit, Mo., and Bill Tucker of Neosho, Mo; a brother, Bradford Jackson if Webster, Texas; 11 step-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren.

A stepson, David Tucker, preceded him in death.

A committal service will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Marion Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church, where he was a member.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at Zeiner Funeral Home.

Memorial funds have been established with the church and with Marion Senior Center.
