Officers worked on reports and conducted follow-up investigations, traffic stops, and vehicle identification number inspections.

Jan. 10: Response was given to an activated car alarm. A non-injury accident was investigated. Assistance was provided with a stuck vehicle. Officers checked a 911 hang-up and a possible poached deer.

Jan. 11: A dog complaint was checked. School zones were patrolled. A motorist received assistance with directions. A message was delivered. A civil standby was provided. A second dog complaint was filed. Officers responded to a suspicious person call.

Jan. 12: School zones were patrolled. Debris was removed from a street. In-house training was conducted.

Jan. 13: School zones were patrolled. A walk-through was provided at OASIS. An officer met with an individual in reference to a civil matter.

Jan. 14: School zones were patrolled. Streetlights were checked.

Jan. 15: School zones were patrolled. A walk-through was provided at Marion High School. A driving complaint was checked. A theft was reported. Response was given to OASIS when a student ran away. Criminal damage was reported. A non-injury accident was investigated. A parking complaint was checked.

Jan. 16: A concerned citizen met with an officer regarding harassing phone calls.

Jan. 17: Suspicious people were checked. An officer met with a concerned citizen.

Jan. 18: Criminal damage was reported.

Jan. 19: School zones were patrolled. A search warrant was served. A possible missing child was reported.

Jan. 20: School zones were patrolled. A suspicious vehicle was reported.

Thursday: School zones were patrolled. A K-9 walk-through was provided at Marion High School and OASIS. An officer met with a citizen regarding a civil matter. Streetlights were checked.

Friday: School zones were patrolled. Response was given to a dog running at-large. An officer met with a citizen regarding a civil matter. A business owner met with an officer. Response was given to St. Luke Hospital with an out-of-control person.

Saturday: Marion County Sheriff’s Department received assistance with cows crossing a highway. A battery was reported. An attempt was made to serve an arrest warrant. Officers worked on junk vehicle reports. A dog complaint was reported. A suspicious person was checked.

Officers issued nine warnings.
