Wrestlers win at Eureka tournament

The Marion High School wrestling team won the Eureka Wrestling invitational, scoring 157 points as a team.

Dillon Wildin returned to his regular form, winning all four of his matches and taking first in the 145-pound weight class. He was the Warriors only first-place finisher.

Tylor Neil, 152 pounds, and Cody Wildin, 135, each earned second place after losing in the championship matches in their weight classes.

Colten Johnson, 160 pounds, and Andy Shipman, 135 pounds, each bested their final opponent to finish third.

Randy Regnier, 119 pounds, and Brody Carroll, 130 pounds, finished fifth. Regnier ended his reign as Marion’s last undefeated wrestler.

Evan Slater also took sixth place in the 189-pound weight class.

“This was our best effort of the year,” Marion head coach Chad Adkins said. “Our young kids continue to get better.”
